The Magnificent Strings began as the string section for Chicago’s Poi dog Pondering. Known for creating soaring Philly soul lines as well as moody and uplifting orchestrations, they became a sought after studio ensemble recording at Albini’s Electrical Audio, Soma, and Rax Trax, bridging the classical and rock music world with artists such as Kim Deal, Mono of Japan, Broken Social Scene, James McCartney, and Russian Circles.
